How we vet every specialist in our network
We don’t just take tradies at their word. Before any specialist enters our network, we check four things. If they don’t pass all four, they’re not on our list.
QBCC Licence Verification
Every specialist must hold a current QBCC contractor’s licence covering pool and spa work. We verify the licence number directly at my.qbcc.qld.gov.au — not just take their word for it. An expired or invalid licence is an automatic disqualification.
Public Liability Insurance
All specialists must carry current public liability insurance with a minimum $5 million cover. We request a certificate of currency before any work is referred. This protects your property if anything goes wrong on-site.
Pool Restoration Specialism
We only connect you with specialists whose primary trade is pool restoration. No generalist builders who “also do pools” on the side. Pool resurfacing and tiling requires specific materials knowledge, particularly for Queensland’s UV and salt-air conditions.
Track Record Review
We review past customer feedback before adding any specialist to our network. Specialists with patterns of late arrivals, incomplete jobs, or pricing disputes are not included — regardless of their licence status.
Common Questions
Is this free for homeowners?
Yes — completely. There is no cost to submit a quote request or to be matched with a specialist. The specialist provides a free on-site assessment and a detailed written quote. You decide from there. We are paid by the specialist network, not by you.
Am I locked in once I submit the form?
No. Submitting the form is not a commitment of any kind. It simply tells us about your pool so we can find the right specialist to contact you. There is no obligation until you accept a quote directly with the specialist. You can withdraw at any time.
How quickly will I hear back?
We review your submission within a few hours during business hours (Monday–Friday 7am–5pm, Saturday 8am–12pm). Our target is to have a matched specialist contact you within 24 hours of your submission. During peak season (September–February) this may extend to 48 hours, but we will always let you know.
How is this different from HiPages or ServiceSeeking?
On those platforms, your job is broadcast to multiple tradies and you receive several competing calls. We do the opposite — we review your specific job and recommend one matched specialist. You are not added to a list. You don’t get five phone calls. You get one well-matched contact who is right for your specific pool and suburb.
What if I’m not happy with the specialist I’m matched with?
Tell us. We take feedback seriously because our network’s reputation depends on every referral going well. If a specialist we connected you with underdelivered, we want to know — and we will not refer them again. We can also attempt to find you an alternative specialist if the first match is not suitable.
What suburbs do you cover?
We cover the full Gold Coast local government area, from Coolangatta in the south to Coomera and Pimpama in the north. This includes Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Robina, Burleigh Heads, Mudgeeraba, Palm Beach, Southport, Hope Island, and surrounding areas.
